The Depth to Water Contour dataset was developed for the Stormwater and Water Conservation Tracking Tool for Riverside County and its Copermittees. The purpose of the Stormwater and Water Conservation Tracking Tool is to improve integration of water quality, stream protection, stormwater management, water conservation and re-use, and flood protection with land use planning and development processes. Depth-to-groundwater contours for the shallow aquifer of the Chino Basin for Spring 2010 in feet below ground-level. The Depth to Water contours for the portion of OCWD in the SAWPA data - An interpretation of the approximate isobaths of near surface water contours 1980. Provides an assessment of the depth to groundwater in feet below ground surface.
This shapefile contains depth-to-groundwater contours for the shallow aquifer of the Chino Basin for spring 2010 in feet below ground-level. Depth-to-groundwater determined by subtracting a groundwater level elevation raster from a USGS 10m Digital Elevation Model. The depth-to-groundwater contours were generated using a raster-contouring tool in the Spatial Analyst extension of ESRI's ARCVIEW 10, and were then generalized and smoothed. Groundwater-levels were estimated based on interpolations made using an Ordinary Kriging model,. The inputs to the model were groundwater-level measurements and points derived from groundwater-level elevation contours. Contours of groundwater-level elevation were created by hand, digitized, and included in Exhibit 22 of the biennial State of the Basin Report (2010) for the Chino Basin Watermaster. Due to variations in local topography and the scale at which the groundwater-level elevation contours were created, the contours contained in this shapefile should be considered generalized representations of depth to groundwater at any given location within the Chino Basin.
